HSB History

Howard S. Billings Regional High School “HSB” opened its doors in 1967.

Built on the sites of what were Maple Elementary and Chateauguay High Schools, “Billings” is named after a most distinguished educator, Dr. Howard S. Billings, late associate Deputy Minister of Education of Quebec.

At that time, 1,532 students filled the high school. At its peak in the 1970s, HSB was bursting at the seams and home to almost 3,000 students.
